🌈 Executive Committee Update — Strengthening the Network & Preparing for the Future

(Page 1)

The Executive Committee reports significant progress on two major initiatives:

1. Rebuilding the Representative Network

  • All Regional, State, and City Representatives were contacted for updated information.

  • Several inactive representatives were removed.

  • New city and state reps were added; more recruitment is needed.

  • Regional openings still exist in:

    • Pacific

    • Southwest

    • East Central

    • Southeast

    • West Central

    • Northeast

Recruitment will continue into the summer.

2. Laying the Groundwork for a Future Gay & Lesbian International AA Convention

  • High-level discussions with potential host cities have begun.

  • Before proceeding, the Executive Committee emphasizes the need for:

    • A strong, active rep network

    • A solid financial structure

    • An official Prudent Reserve

    • A growing World/International Conference Reserve

Prudent Reserve Established

  • Motion passed to create a $12,000 Prudent Reserve.

  • Start with $3,000, and any month the treasury exceeds $3,000, half of the surplus goes into the reserve until fully funded.

  • Current Prudent Reserve: $50.00 — only just beginning.

Call for Donations

The newsletter emphasizes the financial impact of the post–9/11 period and asks members and groups to “dig deep.”
