The December 2005 IAC Newsletter offers a heartfelt holiday message, community updates from around the world, and a collection of service requests from LGBTQ+ AA members seeking meetings, roundups, support, and connection. This issue reflects the deeply personal, grassroots nature of IAC’s outreach during the mid-2000s.


The newsletter opens with an inspirational quotation from Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain about the enduring power of spiritual vision—a message Stan L. beautifully connects to AA recovery and the shared hope carried by sober LGBTQ+ people across the globe.

As of the November 30, 2005 bank statement:

  • Current balance: $2,140.97

  • Bank charges for November: $14.95

🌍 Community Emails & Service Requests


This issue includes several messages from AA and Al-Anon members seeking help, speakers, meeting information, and support. Members are invited to respond directly.

Highlights include:


San Antonio Roundup 2006 – “Vision for You”

Scheduled for September 8–10, 2006.Members encouraged to support the event and begin preparing early for the 2010 International Convention, also planned for San Antonio.

AALA 2006 – Al-Anon Speaker Search (Los Angeles)

Maureen C. seeks GLBT Al-Anon speakers for Memorial Day Weekend 2006.

Alano Club Photo Project

Jay & Ritch are collecting photos and short histories of Alano Clubs worldwide for an archival sobriety calendar project. Members are invited to send images of clubhouses, door signs, meeting spaces, or historic sites.

Searching for Gay Al-Anon in Minneapolis–St. Paul

A member requests any connection to GLBT-friendly Al-Anon meetings in the Twin Cities.

NJ Roundup 2007 – Volunteer Assistance

Blair requests support for the New Jersey Roundup planning committee and assistance staffing the IAC table at the Big Apple Roundup.

Tokyo Metro LGBTQ+ AA Meeting Information

A traveling member seeks updated contact info for Tokyo’s gay AA groups, as meeting locations may have temporarily changed.
