IAC announces two major LGBTQ-focused attractions at the Seattle Convention:

Located in the Cirrus Room – 35th Floor, Sheraton Hotel, Seattle
Hours:
Thursday: Noon–2 AM
Friday: 7 AM–2 AM
Saturday: 7 AM–2 AM
Sunday: CLOSED (Convention closing day)
The suite would feature:
Fellowship and quiet space
Coffee & refreshments
Information tables
Archives
Meeting board & temp sponsor connections
LGBTQ+ gathering point for convention attendees worldwide
💃 IAC Gay & Lesbian AA Dance

This dance was one of the earliest official LGBTQ+ AA events at an AA International Convention.
🙋 Volunteers Needed – 180 Shifts to Fill
IAC requested urgent volunteer support:
180 volunteer slots
2-hour shifts
Volunteer for either the Hospitality Suite or the Dance
Members were encouraged to reply by June 1, 1990.
💰 Donations Needed for Convention Costs
The IAC asked members and groups to help cover:
Hospitality suite setup
Venue expenses
Coffee & supplies
Dance production costs
Printing
Insurance
Equipment rental
All donors could request full financial transparency — one of the earliest examples of IAC’s commitment to open financial reporting.
