The Spring 2016 newsletter is rich with personal recovery stories, AA slogans, service updates, and gratitude for the support that keeps GaL-AA thriving. This edition reflects a time of renewed focus on communication, transparency, and involvement across the LGBTQ+ AA community.

The issue opens with a call for member participation: Submit Your Story!GaL-AA invites LGBTQ+ AA members to contribute their experience, strength, and hope for future newsletters. Writers are encouraged to share 800–1500 word stories about “what it was like, what happened, and what it’s like now.”

A major feature of this issue is a large AA Slogans section—a collection of more than 60 classic AA sayings that support daily sobriety, meeting topics, and spiritual reminders. From “Keep it Simple” to “Don’t Quit Before the Miracle Happens,” the list offers grounding wisdom for newcomers and longtime members alike.

This edition includes a Message from the Executive Committee, featuring personal introductions from three GaL-AA leaders:

Eric W. – Advisor II Eric shares his story of early drinking, addiction, relapse, and eventual long-term sobriety beginning in 2005. His experience emphasizes the power of sponsors, LGBTQ+ meetings, and deep involvement in local service—including several years on the Together We Can Roundup board.

Jim A. – Advisor I Jim reflects on decades of experience with GaL-AA (formerly IAC), his history with the LGBTQ+ roundup community, and his long-standing commitment to service at both local and national levels.

Mark P. – Secretary Mark offers a meaningful account of his drinking history, his resistance to the idea of alcoholism, his eventual spiritual awakening, and how service became essential to rebuilding his life.

This issue also includes a Seventh Tradition section recognizing contributions from December 2015 through March 2016, honoring the support of groups and individuals across the country.

The quarter’s featured content includes Steps 5–7 and Traditions 5–7, offering spiritual focus areas for personal recovery work.

The newsletter ends with a calendar of upcoming LGBTQ+ AA roundups in 2016, including New Mexico, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Arizona Spring Break.
